The game
In the era of prohibition, ruthless men held the city of Chicago in an iron grip. Making millions of dollars on all sorts of illegal activities these men were the scum of the streets, showing absolutely no regard for ethics, common decency or other people’s feelings. They were engaged in anything from prostitution, rum running, bootlegging, tax evasion, theft, fencing, and extortion to downright murder. No scheme was too low and no act too vile if it meant an extra buck in the pockets of these evil, cunning men.
After 3 years in the making Tusbas proudly presents King of Chicago – an action-packed board game for 3-6 players that like spending an evening in the shoes of a gangster boss and talking trash, manipulating and beating some good friends. Playing time is from 1 to 3 hours.
In bullet rains from driveby shootings and raids from your rivals or corrupt police you fight your way from being a small fish to becoming capo di tuti capi....
You win KoC by building the strongest gangster empire of 1920ies Chicago, but most of all it is a strategic game with ample opportunities for alliances, persuasion and betrayal.
In KoC you and your friends are the main characters in your own unique gangster story. You have to think and act like a Gangster to be successful: Will you be the vicious power-hungry Gangster boss that threatens, blackmails, and kill or the sly, cunning boss that persuades, manipulates and betrays his way to power? What will you do to become King of Chicago?
KoC encourages interaction and confrontations among the players. We have designed a simple set of rules to give you extensive freedom to act in any way you want. Your political, diplomatic and manipulative skills are the keys to victory; engage in shady negotiations, form alliances and break them, persuade your opponents and pay, beg or threaten your way to power. You can play any strategy you like; only your own moral sets the limit.
The design of the game captures the dark, ruthless and realistic atmosphere of the gangster era and creates the perfect setting for a raw and bloody gangster story;
we bring the setting, you bring the story.

The game mechanics incorporate the randomness of dice rolling and card drawing into an exciting element of the game that encourage the players to rethink strategies and keep an open eye on the opponents. There’s nothing like the rush of adrenaline and sweaty palms when you execute a crucial die roll. But you won’t win King of Chicago by luck. It takes the mind and the skills of a real Gangster.
So gather your closest friends and spend a couple of hours as fierce enemies…
